Lotte Kopecky proved herself to be the absolute winner in the Kuipke during the omnium for women. The 26-year-old won all events, namely the scratch, omnium tempo race, elimination and points race.
Kopecky immediately showed her true colours in the scratch by winning the first section. The Netherlands’ Amy Pieters had to make do with the next place on the podium ahead of her compatriot Marit Raaijmakers. Lotte Kopecky also reigned supreme in the tempo race with Amy Pieters again getting second place ahead of Marit Raaijmakers.
For a change, Lotte Kopecky also won the elimination. This time, Marit Raaijmakers came second beating The Netherlands’ Daniek Hengeveld. In the closing points race over 120 laps, the top prize again went to Lotte Kopecky who beat Shari Bossuyt and Dutch Maike van der Duin.
