German duo Mauss-Müller won the overal classification of the U23 AVS Cup, the popular preliminary programme of the Lotto Six Days of Flanders Ghent. In the final Madison, they once again proved themselves supreme to the Ghent audience. The Swiss and French put up a brave fight, but had to recognise the strong Germans’ superiority.

There were plenty of winning laps in the final Madison of the Six Days of the Future. The newly formed duo Davide Stella – Renzo Raes were remarkably active. After their partners dropped out, they had some laps to make up. The German leaders Mauss-Müller controlled the race well by joining in the attack and collecting points, but it was not a walk in the park for them. The Swiss duo Constant-Guillet and the French duo Dupe-Menanteau stayed in the same lap and kept attacking the German duo.

But only until Müller and Mauss had had enough. With a third of the race still to go, they scored an extra winning lap, giving them a nice and fairly comfortable lead going into the final. The Swiss duo and the French duo fought for second and third place on the podium. Switzerland’s Constant-Guillet took second place because they had more points, while France’s Dupe-Menanteau finished in a respectable third place, ahead of the Belgian duo Van Damme-Bertels. They collected more points but were one lap behind the duos who won silver and
bronze.

An international battle on the legendary track of the Kuipke producing well-deserved winners Moritz Mauss and Tobias Müller.
