The first names for the 85th edition of the Lotto Six Days of Flanders-Ghent have been announced. Lindsay De Vylder, Fabio Van den Bossche and the retiring Jasper De Buyst are already confirmed to compete at the Kuipke from 17 to 22 November. Lotte Kopecky will also be coming to Ghent. There are still tickets for each day, but you’ll need to be quick.
The 85th Lotto Six Days of Flanders-Ghent will mark the farewell of two-time winner Jasper De Buyst, who is bringing his active cycling career to a close at the age of 32. In 2013 and 2014, De Buyst won the Ghent Six Days as a young man in his early twenties, with Leif Lampater and Kenny De Ketele as his team-mates. Last year, De Buyst took third place, with Elia Viviani – who was retiring at the time – as his team-mate.
Last year’s overall winners were Lindsay De Vylder and Fabio Van den Bossche. They too will be back in Ghent this year, though it is not yet certain whether they will form a duo again. The full field of competitors and the team line-ups will be announced over the coming weeks.
On the Friday and Saturday of the Lotto Six Days of Flanders-Ghent, 20 and 21 November, spectators at the Kuipke can once again look forward to some top-class women’s races, in keeping with annual tradition. Lotte Kopecky will lead the field. Races for para athletes are scheduled for Wednesday and Sunday, and for the Special Olympics on Friday.
A limited number of tickets remain
A limited number of tickets are still available for each day, both for the central square and the stands. However, even at best, this amounts to just a few hundred tickets per day, so you’ll need to be quick. Tickets are on sale here.
