Jasper de Buyst and Tosh Van der Sande head into Sunday’s final day of the Lotto Six Days of Flanders-Ghent with a narrow lead. The race is still wide open with four teams on the lead lap.
Saturday’s early leaders Ghys/De Ketele started off well by winning the team elimination. In the first madison of the night Jasper de Buyst and Tosh Van der Sande proved the strongest after fierce battle. The derny races were won by Roger Kluge and Iljo Keisse.
The final madison went to Havik/Van Schip, while Tosh Van der Sande and Jasper de Buyst did enough to take a slender one-point lead in the standings over Ghys/De Ketele. Buyst and Van der Sande head into the final night of the 79th edition of the Lotto Six Days of Flanders-Ghent with 238 points, followed by Ghys/De Ketele (237 points), Keisse/Cavendish (224 points) and Kluge/Reinhardt (169 points) on the same lap.
In the women’s omnium Dutch world champion Kirsten Wild put on a dominant display. She won the scratch, the elimination and the closing points race to hold off Belgians Jolien d’Hoore and Lotte Kopecky.
