In exactly two months, from 18 to 23 November, the world’s top track cyclists will once again gather at the Kuipke. The 84th edition of the Lotto Six Days of Flanders-Ghent always features the best Belgian track riders. A number of them have already confirmed their participation: Lindsay De Vylder, Fabio Van den Bossche and Jules Hesters. For those who don’t have a ticket yet: there are currently only a few hundred tickets left per day.
Home rider Fabio Van den Bossche will be defending his title from last year. In the final Madison, the Paris Olympics bronze medallist took overall victory alongside ‘gold’ medallist Benjamin Thomas. In doing so, they also prevented Lindsay De Vylder and Robbe Ghys from winning their third consecutive overall victory. Van den Bossche and De Vylder will both be back at the start in November, undoubtedly with the ambition of adding another title to their collection. Jules Hesters, who finished third last year, will certainly be joining the fray. It remains to be seen who they will team up with.
One pair is already known: the Dutchmen Yanne Dorenbos and Vincent Hoppezak, the European Madison Champions from earlier this year in Heuden-Zolder. After the Track World Championships (from 22 to 26 October in Chile), the field of participants will take on a more definitive shape.
95% of tickets for the Lotto Six Days of Flanders-Ghent have already been sold. There are currently between 100 and 300 day tickets left, depending on the day. Tickets can be purchased here.
