Also on the second day of the Fashion For Cycling Ladies Cup, Lotte Kopecky made the Kuipke roar. As on Friday, the World Champion won the elimination and points race in dominant fashion. “Lotte, Lotte, Lotte!” rolled loudly from the stands. Lotte Kopecky is not only the best rider in the world, but also the Empress of the Kuipke!

Month after month, Kopecky has strung together victories: in Belgium and abroad, in classics and championships, in one-day and stage races, solo and in sprints, against time and against the rest of the peloton, on cobbles and gravel, on the road and on the track, … Kopecky won (almost) always and everywhere. 2023 was a miracle year for the 28-year-old resident of Assenede!

In a churning Kuipke on Friday and Saturday, Lotte Kopecky knitted another short sequel to her miracle year 2023. The reigning World Road Champion was allowed to come and show off her rainbow jerseys in track cycling – in the elimination and points race – to the home crowd at the 82nd Lotto Zesdaagse Vlaanderen-Ghent.

Together with young Belgian talents such as Katrijn De Clercq and Hélène Hesters, the leading lady of Belgian cycling competed against riders from the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and France during the Fashion For Cycling Ladies Cup. To the delight of the Ghent audience, Kopecky won both the elimination race and the points race on Saturday after Friday.

Afterwards, Kopecky was extensively honoured. The flowers after the elimination were presented by none other than Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, while that honour went to the team of the event’s title sponsor, Fashion For Cycling after the points race.
